Kitscoty RCMP have released information about a plane crash which occurred Saturday east of Edmonton, near the Saskatchewan border.

Around 4 p.m. a call was made to the Kitscoty RCMP about a small airplane down in a lake, near Highway 45 between Onion Lake and Marwayne.

The plane had been fueling on the lake, and was attempting to lift off. It made three attempts to gain altitude, and on the third attempt the aircraft was turned back. During this maneuver, the tip of the wing clipped the surface of the water, causing the aircraft to crash into the lake.
