Canada's joint delegation to NATO tweeted an image Wednesday mocking Russia and offering help for “lost” Russian soldiers.

The tweet read: "Geography can be tough. Here’s a guide for Russian soldiers who keep getting lost & ‘accidentally’ entering #Ukraine.

Attached was a map with Russia marked in red and labelled “Russia” and Ukraine in blue labelled “Not Russia.”

Russia retaliated Thursday by posting its own map with the text: "Helping our Canadian colleagues to catch up with contemporary geography of #Europe."

There has been no Canadian response — on Twitter, or otherwise — to Russia redrawing the European map on social media.

But Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Russia had "invaded" Ukraine.

His comments came after NATO satellite images of Russian forces in sovereign Ukraine territory were released earlier in the day.
