TORONTO — Two pilots flying in Canadian International Air Show in Toronto escaped injury Friday when the landing gear of the plane they were flying collapsed, police said.

Emergency services were called to Pearson International Airport around 1:30 p.m.

A number of jets and other aircraft were practicing for the Canadian International Air Show, which runs Saturday, Sunday and Labour Day Monday.

"It's unclear whether the plane was landing or being taxied at the time," said Const. Thomas Ruttan.
