I think Mexico is A dangerous place and no one should go there! The government of Mexico don't seem to care about safety and humanity. They like to cover it up. Mexico has extreme police corruption! Which I am sure the Mexican government is also has extreme corruption!

I avoid Mexico, though, am planning to visit Peru, as for U.S. bashing, I have relatives in Rhode Island who make fun of us New Yorkers, who cares! I have a roommate from Canada who makes fun of Canada, who cares!

"In fact, the US is much safer than Mexico, indeed even Canada, because if you include property crimes Canada has a higher crime rate than the US."
No Mark
Not sure about that but indeed the United States has a murder rate 2 and a half times higher than Canada.
EH?
Canada is faar safer a place than the United States.
Mexico is far safer than the United States.
Double EH?

There have been many murders committed on Canadian tourists in Mexico the past couple of years.
Question- How many of them have been solved? Answer- ZERO
Mexico is generally a lawless country with corrupt police and public officials.
Why would anyone want to continue risking his or her life going there?
It's insanity to continue doing so.

Didn't some poor bloke get tazered to death by R.C.M.P. officers at a Vancouver airport a couple of weeks ago? It was all caught on film. He was unarmed, couldn't speak a word of English and obviously had been in a state of panic. Bet those cops walk away without even so much as a reprimand. I think we should look in our own backyard before pointing fingers at Mexicans.

I have been to Mexico eight times since 2001 and have never had a problem either at a resort or while exploring towns or cities. This is surely another case of a person over-indulging in alcohol or some other intoxicant. This mishap would have happened in Scarborough, or Las Vegas, or any other place under similar circumstances.

No, NEVER. I prefer to vacation in countries that have real law. Mexico has Rent-A-Cops, you can pay me now or later!!

Wrong again Tweetypie. Though you can't resist some US bashing as usual - it just underscores your pathetic inferiority complex and baseless moral superiority. You must be from Toronto to think like you do.
In fact, the US is much safer than Mexico, indeed even Canada, because if you include property crimes Canada has a higher crime rate than the US.

My comment is short and sweet. I live in Mexico 4 months of the year for 6 years already and never have experienced any problems and never go looking for problems at funny hours of the day. It is very safe down there.
