Does Earth Hour actually help the environment?
Fri, March 25, 2011

Do you plan on sitting in the dark this Saturday night?

Around the world, people will make the symbolic gesture of showing they support a cleaner world and lower-carbon lifestyle by raising their carbon output.

Earth Hour, started in 2007, encourages people to show their support for the planet by turning their lights off and enjoying the world by candlelight. The problem, of course, is for most Canadians that means turning off a low-carbon energy source and burning pure fossil fuels.

The absurdity is likely lost on most professional environmentalists.

Go ahead and have Earth Hour, but lose the concerts that proceed "the hour". All those lights and sound equipment sure do use a ton of power.

Notice how it's now called "climate change" and not global warming ever since it was shown that the worlds temperature has fallen since 2003? Global Cooling in the 70's and global warming in the 00's. Will global heat stroke or global freeze be next?

If the lightes are on or not the generator keeps spinning. So no it does not do anything. The fact that there is more and more proof that there is no global warming won't get in there way.The fact that Nasa did not find any warm pockets in the upper atmosphere proving no green house affect and increasing CO2 with the highest temp in 98 proves CO2 has nothing to do with temp won't change there mind either. Enviromentalism is the new comunism no facts needed blind support no matter what. Do mammoth tusks in the perma frost tell you some thing. The world at one point had no ice caps and did not end life on this planet. "Climate is what you think will happen weather is what you get"Ben Franklin.

Does Earth Hour actually help the environment?

Does putting black coals on hold for one hour help clean up the air?

>>>>>WELL YES IT DOES, you silly dead head morons<<<<<

Great post Karen on the Ecochandriacs. It makes the Eco elitist feel all warm and fuzzy like they accomplished something.

Karen Smith, who obviously has some problems says she will turn on all the lights in her house during Earth Hour says..

"Honestly I think those people are really pathetic and should book a room at the nearest mental health facility"

You really just described yourself there Karen.

Typical environment hating right winger is what you are

Chris very sillilly says..

"Wait until everyone turns their power back on. The resulting surge in peak demand to the power grid will result in global blackouts."

OH? I dont recall that happening last year.I guess I missed that major news event

EH?

it would help if the clown who thought this up didn't put the time right in the middle of the hockey game. There won't be any lights on, but there will be a blue glow from the LCD in the living room during this time....

nice one Karen! I like it. Funny, yet pathetically true.

"...The Twilight Zone."

...heh - Nice one :)
Chris, 2009-03-27 14:58:56

Cue music from The Twilight Zone.

Cue Rod Sterling voice over:

"Submitted for your consideration that the whole Mother Earth movement including Earth Day is a pagan concept celebrating Gaia the Mother Earth goddess; a concept invented to discount God as Creator and Christianity in general and substituting secularism and self worship instead.

Worshiping false messiahs such as Al Gore and Barroom Obambam, these false prophets of alarmist catastrophism and openly use derision in an attempt to embarrass unbelievers; they use a variety of word games and shell games to obfuscate the fact that carbon cap and trade will bankrupt wealthy countries and enrich 3rd world countries. It is another form of socialism.

The curtain can be pulled back to reveal the men pulling the levers. Careful scrutiny will petty men with narcissistic egos. Their silly attempts to embarrass unbelievers fail, and they themselves are exposed.

Al Gore and the Obamination OWN COMPANIES THAT WILL BE ENRICHED BY THE CAP AND TRADE CONCEPT.

Suzuki 30 years ago warned about impending ice ages if people didn't stop using CFCs. It would expand the 'hole' in the ozone about Antarctica, remember?

And now that he's whoring himself out to anyone who will buy his blather, he now earns a handsome living nattering about glo-bull warming.

Little men. Faulty ideas. Unproven theories and false premises. These are the false realities of those who worship Mother Earth in place of the True God on the little blue marble in...

...The Twilight Zone."
Karen Smith, 2009-03-27 14:46:46

I remember last year some people got really annoyed about Earth Hour and the purposely turned on every single light in their house for the whole hour. You can't please everyone, and not everyone will willingly participate in things like this. It's a nice way to get everyone to think about the issue, anyway.
