they should have locked her away and throw away the key. She was found guilty, has a face of guilt, this is nothing but a sham by the government. why , who knows. they should send her the bill!!

While it was unfortunate that this woman had to wait 2 years for determonation of her case. She was found guilty in a supposed democratic country. I disagree in paying that amount for transportation back to Canada. There are Many many commercial daily flights from mexico every day.

I have no respect for MY country's leaders.

There are so many people here in Canada who REALLY NEED assistance in one form or another but they get NOTHING. I know......I fell ill with cancer and the only money CANADA could give me was 15 lousy weeks of(EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE).Talk about insurance eh> I worked without stopping for 38 years and paid my taxes. But My country does not give a hoot about me.

But they do save a criminal who is stuck in another country...yesseree.

I am confused as to where the government priorities are.

So now,no more donations to any foundation or whatever fundraiser who wants my money. Go see Harper...he got lots.I guess Brenda Martin will now be on welfare eh?

I would just like to say , that I feel bad for all the people that would not want to help this lady. If it had happened to you what would you want ? The mexican legal sysytem has flaws !! Are we not a united country, I'm sure there are 80,000 people that feel the way I do, tell me where to send my dollar !

I've been reading news now for 40 or so years and i've never read where the person held in a foreign jail admitted they were guilty; their system is just like ours - the jails are full of innocent people

Well she may or not deserve the $80 +/-. I assume she is Canadian and there are a lot of us. What did it really cost. If it were me I would like the support of my country. How well do we play hockey. The government gets lots of flack. Tell them to pat their back. Ask what took so long. Ask not what you can do for me but what you can do for them.
