"Security concerns"? Give me a break! Sounds like yet another misuse of taxpayers funds.
Good ole Canada, eh?

After what she went through with the Third World justice system, who the hell cares what it cost to get her back.
It works out to less than .10 cents for every taxpayer. Oooh, big breaking news by the outfit that DOES cost the taxpayers a fortune to run.

another waiste of canadian tax dollars at work ... sorry YES she should have come home for her family's sack ... but why should I have to pay the bill ?
nancy, 2008-05-07 14:15:24
tweedledumb moronically says "If right wingers had have had their way he would have been executed instead of wasting tax dollars keeping him in prison for a murder he did not do '
what is all this right wing hatred? Are you so narrow as to not bother with anyone who feels differently than you?
Brenda Martin was convicted in a court of law(dubious court no doubt), she is now a convicted criminal, it sounds like she played the shell game here too.
So twitty; would you have all prisoners set free? Save maybe for the ones who confess, ...ah right the evil police must have coerced those statments.
You little feathered brain, are an ongoing joke.

Ted foolishly says..
"if the evidence against her says she is guilty"
The evidence also supposedly said David Milgaard was guilty.
If right wingers had have had their way he would have been executed instead of wasting tax dollars keeping him in prison for a murder he did not do
Would you like more names of people who did the time but not the crime?
EH?

Someone, You're wasting your time responding to narrow thinkers like Ted Mureika who blissfully go thru life with their head up their butt. Corruption in the Mexican legal system is widely known by informed people. Mureika clearly isn't one of the "well informed." Evidence? Hell! She was held for two+ years with NO charges being laid. That too, is common knowledge. If Mureika can't figure that out, there's no hope for him! Leave him to wallow in his uninformed and sanctimonious black & white world.

someone:
How much you wanna bet she knew?
Didn't seem to bother her until, say, a couple years ago.
What don't you people get about traveling to other parts of the world?
Other countries have their own laws and ways of conducting themselves (some better than others), and when you go there, you must conduct YOURSELF accordingly, IOW they don't have to adapt to YOU.
If our legal system reviews the evidence and finds she was indeed guilty of participating in fraud in Mexico, I hope she is held accountable for the expenditure of our tax dollars.
I suspect she knew about, participated in, and profited from her former employer's criminal enterprise.

For those against bringing her back to Canada, are you aware that several Canadians have been murdered in Mexico, and the Mexican government blamed other Canadians and closed the cases? Do you know they didn't even try to look for other suspects?
Are you aware of a few months ago, a man fell from a 2nd story building in Mexico, and despite eyewitness reports, they said he was drunk and fell?
Are you remotely aware of how corrupt it is there?
someone, 2008-05-06 19:42:26
if the evidence against her says she is guilty why in the hell are we making such a fuss and wasting tax-payers dollars on her.we should keep our noses out of other countries business.i.e. "don't do the crime if you can't do the time"
Ted Mureika, 2008-05-03 22:42:23
Interesting...... Hope we search for other convicted felons in all the jails across the world;whats good for one should be good for all. Then again .. if I go to mexico buy some pot and get caught .....I will just put my sad face on ,threaten to kill myself and have my friends start a BIG -BAD -MEXICO- IS -INCARCERATING- A -CANADIAN -WITH- THEIR- MEDEIVAL -LAWS campaign!
