The Mexican govt needed to save face...I now have second thoughts about ever vacationing in Mexico!

We are kind of sticking it to the Mexican Legal System. It also sends out a message to the rest of the world that Canada doesn't respect their legal systems. As if we had anything to brag about.

James...Or should I say Twitty Pie. I can assure you I am very balanced.

I believe Brenda is knee deep in this because it's an age old scam used to throw off the police and courts by investing "money" back into a scam you are running to try and prove you had no idea it was a scam if you are caught. You really need to become street savvy if you want to survive in this life.

Those big croc tears Brenda spilled on TV fooled only those bleeding hearts that are too uneducated in the area of crime to see what really is going on. James (TP), you are one of those "Marks" telemarketers count on because you are nieve and ignorant to the ways of the street.

And how about that private jet flying her from Mexico to Canada. Anyone calculate the cost of that little ride? I'm afraid to. I do know the money spent on her trip home could have gone a long way to feeding many of Toronto's children in the "School Lunch Program" that are run by many of the local schools. Instead we spent the money feeding and flying someone who publically stated she disliked Canada and loved Mexico. Ya, the kind of person I want back on Canadian soil with my tax money. And to think little Johnny will miss out on a meal because of the public outcry to bring a thief home. People in this country need to get their priorities straight. Helping this theif isn't it.

Preferental treatment because she is an old , white woman. A young visible minority male would still be rotting in a Mexican prison. latest example of "white damsel in distress syndrome".
MickNS, 2008-05-02 10:54:21

I'm sick of her crying and wimpering on TV. The woman's an idiot.. Why should we feel sorry for her and help her when there are probably 1000s of other Canadians in foreign jails who are also "innocent".. Maybe they should make spectacles of themselves on national tv like she did. I hope the media is done with this

You should add the option 'Who cares' to all future polls regarding this woman. This really REALLY is a non-issue in Canada where our Prime Minister just attended another SPP meeting in New Orleans.

A couple of points to ponder. Martin gets fired and ebds up investing with the guy who canned her? That just doesn't pass the smell test. Funny how 15,000 other folks took a hit, but she got her money back. How does she explain that? With any luck, this will be the last we hear of this scammer, but I bet there's a CBC movie in the works as we speak.

It is a good thing that this ussue has been resolved. Now let it go.

If people she knew were so concerned why didn't they send the cash.I have no pity for her because she should have left Mexico when she was fired.
Steve, 2008-05-02 08:48:46

Well james that is one way of looking at it.

another might be how come of the $60M bilked she was the only one to recieve $10K back. Assuming she put $10K in to begin with. Even going so far as to assume the $10K was actually from $26K paid to her (from the $60M bilked from the other people) for being hired help in a place were its rare to see white people as hired help, in fact its the land of cheap labour.

Hope Brenda wasn't brought home in the private lear jet that passed over my house yesterday and landed at the waterloo airport. Since it doesn't have much traffic landing there its pretty high odds.
