What do you think about businesses declining poppies?
Thu, November 11, 2010

TORONTO - Kaitlyn Hall-Kuch wanted to wear a poppy on Remembrance Day.

Problem is the 16-year-old employee of the McDonald's on King George Rd. in Brantford was told, shockingly, she can't.

"Myself and another woman, whose father is a veteran, were wearing one when a manager told us to take them off," she said Wednesday.

She was floored and demanded to know why?

"He told us it was for safety reasons and that it was a corporate policy," she said. "We were very upset."

Tiny PEI, so rude. That type of behaviour used to be reserved for the twitless one and its extended family.

beekiie says a holiday should not be thought of as a holiday!

HUH?

Why not?

Me and BB ( or BB and I) certainly noticed just how many people saved their Nov11 holiday and took it on the 13th instead. The mall in town was just packed on Friday afternoon with people taking a long weekend

EH?
tweetypie, 2010-11-19 12:30:13

wow, this ignorant, selfish and dis-respectful person just loves to show it's true colours;

"Thankfully our holiday is over, now... afghanistan."

theliar, 2010-11-15 01:53:40

to think of 11November as a holiday, really impressive.

to ramble off topic about an opinion which has yet to be proven... well done.

what a pathetic person this liar is.
beakie, 2010-11-18 07:35:33

That is exactly my point.

What tiny pei originally posted applies ONLY to volunteers.

I still believe ALL the soldiers who died in any war. be they conscripts or volunteers, are worthy of our gratitude and respect, especially on remembrance day.

I only intended to point out that conscripts certainly didn't write any such cheques.

Uplink.....you are a clown look at the politics. And before you post stupid comments......RESEARCH! get it right. Now go run under the porch and lick your nuts

Does this help...A veteran, WHO VOLUNTEERED, etc...? In any case, no one of us may question the bravery of the Canadian soldiers who fell.

Certainly, Uplink is neither an idiot nor a Liberal and neither is tiny pei.

"A veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank cheque payable to Canada for an amount up to, and including, their life. That is beyond honour, please think about that on 11 Nov.

tiny pei, 2010-11-09 04:42:16"

Even if 1 conscript died, the aforementioned statement is patently false.

I am not a Liberal.

Because of Remembrance Day we had a lovely long weekend and got a head start on our Christmas shopping across the line.
paul, 2010-11-15 09:28:20

Thankfully our holiday is over, now back to business, get the soldiers out of occupied afghanistan.
