Do you think 'political correctness' goes too far sometimes?
Wed, November 26, 2008

TORONTO - Ontario's licence censors have picked the wrong butt to kick.

It belongs to Rick Evans, 49, who owns a couple of Survivor Bootcamp fitness franchises in Vaughan.

His slogan is "We Kick Butt (Yours)."

So it seemed a smart idea to get a vanity plate along those lines for the company Jeep.

The website said KICKBUTT was unavailable. But BUTTKICK was open. So he typed in why he wanted it. Then he clicked and paid his $235.

This week a letter arrives on Rick's desk from the Personalized Licence Plate Co-ordinator, Ministry of Transportation, Licensing Administration and Support Office. It says BUTTKICK has been given the boot.

The reasons: "Sexual subject matter." "Abusive or derogatory." "Violence/criminal activity."

"This is political correctness gone too far," says Rick. "They're telling us what to do and what to think all the time, and it's getting out of control."

Do you think schools sometimes take 'political correctness' too far?

Yep, one is a misspelling, my bad. Take 2 points off for the spelling error. The argument that the author is heterophobic stands.
Not_the_Daddy, 2010-02-09 23:34:24

Is there a difference between heterosexual and hetrosexual?

Well of course you don't know, you don't understand the question. I would have thought this would be right up your alley.

Politically correct for the sensibly challenged.

Gee, YOU decide...do you think the following could be published if "political correctness wasn't rampant?

"How dare you say gays don't support their own businesses? (NOW, Jan 14-20) Its completely incorrect. I'M GAY, MY CO-WORKERS ARE GAY, MY FRIENDS ARE GAY, and we all support Church Street." (NOW, Jan 21-27, page 11.)

If someone wrote "I'M HETRO, ALL MY CO-WORKERS ARE HETRO, MY FRIENDS ARE HETRO AND WE ALL SUPPORT HETRO BUSINESSES." How many seconds do you think it would take someone to SHOUT...HOMOPHOBES. Sooo, in fairness it is obvious the author above is HETROPHOBIC and NOW is a politically correct, socialist, hypocritical RAG.

"...goes too far sometimes?" No, I think it goes too far ALL the time.

If you are 'offended' by something I say, don't listen to me and I will treat you the same.

I know, I know, too bloody logical.

Dave your comment: "Political correctness is just censorship disguised". Capsulates the entire Politically Correct B.S. perfectly. My hats off to you, just the hat though, just the hat.
