Did the Governor General make the correct decision? Wed, December 3, 2008
Governor General Michaelle Jean has granted Prime Minister Stephen Harper's request to prorogue the Canadian Parliament.
Facing the prospect of a non-confidence vote on Monday, Dec. 8, PM Harper asked the Governor General for the prorogation on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008. Parliament will reconvene on Jan. 26, 2009.
Not so far she did not,as i did not vote for the Tories of Canada.
In about 2 weeks we will see if Hitler Con-Harper will be keeping his Job that i did not vote for.
So now only time will tell if it did G.G. any good in trying to help out an P.M. that does not like to work that legal for most Canadians.

YES The Governor General made the RIGHT Decision.
The other three parties as
they were refered to would have burried the country. I would like to see more positive incouragement towards Stephen Harper. He needs the support of our great Country to navigate through these rough waters. AND NO the other three parties were not elected to Goven this country wheather they had the most votes combined or not. Gerry

Just like she should have when Stephen Harper attempted to form a coalition of his own? Or would you have been more agreeable in that case. That smells of hypocrisy, unfortunately, though, so I hope you wouldn't say that she shouldn't have pro-rogued parliament if Paul Martin had been put to a non-confidence vote.
It's funny that all of the other three could work together while Stephen Harper could not and yet the other three are the ones who are not looking out for you and I, ESPECIALLY when they are the ones that the majority ACTUALLY voted in. Hmmmm....
Unfortunately, Canada does NOT have these rights. But it is understandable that you might not see that if you come from the position of a male-privileged viewpoint. Sorry, either way, though....

Dwain
Harper doesn not try to work with others, as leader, especially a minority leader he must make this effort.
I havn't seen this effort.
I do see three leaders working together and Harper isn't one of them.
You call it teaming up, I call it working together towards a greater cause.
So dwain you think on that ; )

Penny might want to take her woman's rights and homosexual rights fight to the countries that do not have them. Your fighting for these rights in a country that already has them. You seem to have no examples of Harper's negatives only slander.Typical Liberal poseur.

I don't know if she made the right choice, but she's soooo hot!!!
Billy, 2008-12-13 23:35:33
Yes she did. She is smart enough to know when treason is afoot! Lets hope she continues to see that the coalition of stooges are only greedy politicians and not looking out for you and I. With luck and wisdom she should call for elections when the coalition of stooges votes down the Budget in Jan.
I just love it when leaders use fear to get votes. George Bush used it so well throughout his 8 years as US dictator. The liberals have grabbed onto the idea and are using it here in Canada. They are screaming "Certain death to all" if we don't start shoveling billions of dollars into unions and liberals friendly companies. Absolutely brilliant of them.
Meanwhile, the Conservatives were trying to calm the herd and head off the problems they could. All thsoe reports were due in 05 Dec but by then the liberals had already committed treason and were whipping the lefties into a complete frenzy. Once again they learned well from George W. Bush and Carl Rode.

PENNY
How can Harper work with the others when they are not willing to work with him. The others are only interested in flinging poop and teaming up at it.
THE OLD SAYING. . . ."IT TAKES TWO TO FIGHT"

of course not...some clown insisted there was no economic crisis, did absolutely nothing to help prevent it, ensured it would not bypass us,and when called on it, cried to mommy to make the bad men stop. What a joke Harper is and what a joke this patronage position of Governor General is. You people who support these morons deserve all you are going to get
