How can we stop gang violence when we can't even put away a known terrorist properly. Momin Khawaja gets 10.5 years on-top of the 5 years he's already done. This is a huge error as we should have put him away for life. All that is going to happen now is this terrorist will do his time and be out in 5 years for good behavior. Then we can expect him to be very angry and involve himself in more terrorist activities upon release as others have done. This is not a crime of the usual kind. These animals are doing this for their God and as such will continue with their crimes upon release.

My question on this animal is, is he a immigrant or is he born in Canada. If he is an immigrant why has he not been ordered out of Canada up on release...and why is his family still here? The whole lot should be packed up and sent back to their country of origin.

And people wonder why racism exists today in Canada toward Muslims. There is no justice when those that are trying to kill us are indeed getting away with crimes. He had plans of killing Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. His ROAD SIDE BOMB PARTS were to be used against all WESTERN SOLDIERS. That includes our own Canadian troops. This makes me sick.

"I thought the gun registry was supposed to stop this."

Well you thought wrong.

Just as stop signs and speed limit signs dont stop people from doing what they are meant to do

But putting a stop sign at a corner probobly does more good than if it wasnt there at all

EH?

No, they won't. Know how i know? I was just able to leave one of the worst gangs a little over a year ago after about 13 years in it. We never even worried about about "new, tougher laws". We just did what we did. Make money. Plain and simple. Our world revolved around money. If we got pinched and had stuff seized, we got back out on the street and made more money. Gangs will never end. i was only able to leave with the help of a caring cop and my family support.

I thought the gun registry was supposed to stop this.

But the gun offense charges are always plea bargained away, and are only used to persecute law abiding citizens.

News flash to the Libs.

Criminals don't obey the law, and they will always find a way to get guns.

If they're Immigrants deport them right after they're convicted.

That's the only thing they fear.

We need to bring back the death penalty.

Tougher laws won't make a difference when you can't even get a conviction. And if you do get a conviction, the charges are almost always plea bargained down and the punishment is a slap on the wrist. Until our society changes and we are not affraid to lock up those who deserve it for the rest of their lives, or better yet, put to death, things will never change, other than for the worse.

I believe the answer is in deportation. It would work it would make these gutless cowards think before committing their criminal acts and would also make their immediate families more responsible if they knew they could all be deported back to where they came from.

yeh yeh make everyone a terrorist, put a stapler in their hand and arrest them.
bruce, 2009-03-05 18:08:02

Tougher laws don't do a thing.
bruce, 2009-03-05 18:00:26

Gangs fit the definition of terrorists and we have laws to deal with that so what is realy needed is judges who are elected if the public is not satisfied with the judge no reelection the courts should work for the law abiding citizen
Bruce, 2009-03-05 17:16:42

Make all the laws they want, but until we have judges who use those laws to the full extent, we will continue to just slap people on the wrist. Further frustrating the average citizen and demoralizing the cops on the front line, who keep making arrests and then have to watch as the criminals are back on the street within days.
