Tue, October 27, 2009

As H1N1 vaccine supplies dwindle, healthy Toronto adults are being told to step aside for higher-risk people.

I think this is going to become an excellent learning experience for us. We have unreasonable expectations from our medical community, and too easily believe the loud people who confidently proclaim anything. It takes a great deal of time to become good at anything, more to become expert at a subject. Since the press charges itself with being the fifth estate perhaps the onus lies upon them to ask relevant and insightful questions, rather than reporting the press conference featuring the talking head.

Is there no real news? Does the drug companies pay you to make this top story?

Hey Bruce, the leadership of this country has done all they can to tell people what is going on and it appears you weren't listening. Facilities all over north american and australia are working over time to ensure production is maximized. We are not the only one's needing this vaccine. Almost all nations are in the same boat except Australia who has already peaked and are now on the downside.

So while you socialist work overtime to pass around lies, just remember that there are people out here who will ensure your BS gets thumped.

So where is Iggy during all this? I suppose he's creating more lies to tell the foolish socialist in hopes he can get enough votes to help break up Canada.

People need to take a breather and calm down.

First of all, my condolences to the Frustaglio family for the loss of their son.

Health officials have made it quite clear that Evan's death was a rarity. Now consider this:

There have been no reports of illness/deaths to Evan's family, classmates, hockey team, etc. This is clearly a unique (and unfortunate) case. Individuals who were around Evan and exposed/interacted have not come down with the virus.

The media have blown this completely out of proportion. I refuse to watch the nightly news, listen to the radio, and basically skim through the special H1N1 sections of any Toronto newspaper. Enough already.

Check out the American news websites if you have time. No mention of a 'pandemic' unlike here.

The only pandemic is the one created by the media.

The leaders of this country are failing people on h1n1.

I am not afraid for myself, but for my daughter.

As per comment by Ryan, the numbers show that there are 100 times the number of fatalities from the common flu then from swine flu? I wonder why there isn't mass panic caused by the common flu then. Interesting.

In Australia, which just went through there flu season, without a vaccine, had a total of 186 flu-related deaths out of 36,991 confirmed cases of H1N1. That's a 0.005% mortality rate. Draw your own conclusions.

To all the people in line, thank you for being the guinae pigs! How can you trust a drug that has not been properly tested. Just because our Gov says it's safe does not make so. The media surrounding this is sickening, they should come up with a vaccine againts over sensationalized news. Or at least I would ask the media not to be like CNN, remember the balloon boy fiasco??? What a joke.

People stop freaking out and use common sense, washe hands often, eat well, sleep well and exercise if you can. We spay salinex in our nose to help kill any bacteria and gargle with salt water.

take care
