Should there be limits placed on (BLANK)?

It is rather unfortunate that we live in a society where common sense is clearly lacking of many individuals, and so there will always be cases where limits need to be applied when common sense was not. There is always going to be that idiot out there who goes way over the top, whether it be Xmas decorations or making out at a Tim Hortons.

Unfortunately, you can't legislate common sense

"Should limits be placed on public displays of Christmas"? Well, let ask a few other questions, just to place a metric on this one. *Should limits be placed on public displays of affection*? *Should limits be placed on public displays of happiness or joy*? *Should limits be placed on public displays of sorrow or grief*? *Should limits be placed on public displays of disagreement with a governments policies*? Have I caused you, the reader, to think? I do hope so. Merry Christmas to all of you, most especially to those who disagree with me.

Why Mrs. B. you must be reading something different than I wrote. I said there was no posting in the paper or given to the neighbours. A posting is given which informs the locals where they can go or write if they oppose something being built in their neighbourhood. There was no mention of permits.

Maybe Santa will do many of us a favour and put somne common sense and comprehension abilities in your stocking instead of coal.

Merry Christmas!

Sean ????

What part of the earth did you come from.

Ever here of Champlain , Cartier ??? The many others from the North West fur trade. The Acadia which was all french until the British sent them all to the West indies and louisana.

Methinks you need to go see a school or at least a library.

The British were south. France founded the entire America from Ohio west to the Missippsppi ansd all points north including Michigan and Illinios , Wisconsin

Just a few facts for you

Hey Sean, a little off topic but news flash. Canada was founded and settled first by the French. Cabot, Cartier, Champlain, not counting the Vikings of course.

They did celebrate Christmas in New France, as it was first called.

Aw, dang!

I meant to ask the Ottawa lad: "Stereotype much?".

Anyhoo - there it is!
HGA, 2012-12-19 12:35:23

@ Jay from Ottawa: I happen to know Indians who are Christians! And I do mean both *from* India and *native people*! Generalize much?

If you come to this country then you need to accept our customs. You don't need to practice them but you must accept them otherwise you can always return to your country of origin.
