TTC union president Bob Kinnear lashed out at the members of the public who have been filming and snapping pictures of TTC staffers on the job and his message to them was clear: Stop it.
its a good idea for people who are lazy and not prepared to do their part, those are exactly the kind of people that unions are good for.
Funny how there's never any real 'stars' within the union rank and file; huh?

Public employees live and work in a competitive vacuum. They are the only entity that can provide these specific services. By law. So in this case without any competition to keep wages and services and quality in check they should not have the ability to unionize. This only put upward pressure on wages, benefits. As well as locking in the emplyer"the canadian tax payer" to long and unfare contracts where the private sector could and would provide the very same services at a lower cost. Why should we have two classes of Canadian citizens? those whore work for the governemt and get better wages and benefits? and those who work in the market economy? Competition ensures effeciency, wage restrictions and freedom of labour.

So Mr. Kinnear, who are you going to blame the latest incident with your union employees on? You know the one where the bus driver ran into the back of a flatbed, certainly can't say it was the medias fault. Thanks to the powers that be there were no major injuries. I suppose you will say the flatbed shouldn't of been there. Mr. Kinnear your speech earlier set the tone for your union employees that they aren't responsible or accountable for any of their actions. The problems the TTC has been expereincing has nothng to do with the management and everything to do with the union members. The public sees this quite clearly, it has nothing to do with the media either so get a reality check and straighten up your union members to act as they should on the job, especially when the safety of the public is a major part of their responsibility.

Sure...whats wrong with the taxpayers getting as little as possible (work or any tangible returns) for as much as possible (tax $$'s) by as many as possible (8 guys, 1 summer student to dig the hole & 7 FTE's to stand around & watch)..?

From my experiences now a days the union only helps lazy people keep their jobs and holds back people that strive to do their best and advance in the comapany. I for one will never be apart of a union again. As for public workers being union. . .. I don't care. Don't expect me to be quiet when your cought sleeping on the job though.

You are out of your ever oving mind. I have done CONTRACT work...installing servers and attempting to bring union shops into the 21st century for 25 years and I can tell you that the numbers are absolutely REVERSED. 5% actually want to do SOMETHING, 95% hinder the 5 percent because IT WILL MAKE THEM LOOK BAD.
Your post was typical union tripe and absolutely hilarious.

Unions are VERY good for most of their members. Without the union protecting them the vast majority of them would be unemployed. Without the nepotism of CUPE, OPSEU, CUPW most of their children, cousins, nephews and bartender's children could only hope for jobs in private sector mailrooms licking stamps. Yeah, I know there are postal meters available but the private sector would hardly trust the offspring of those BOZOs to operate a mechanical or electronic device.
The reason unionist want LIFETIME protection for their jobs is that they are well aware that they could NEVER survive at any level in the private sector.
