It's her house!! If she wants to stay there for a night or a month she can and he can take his request and cram it!! He's lucky that they didn't come home to find all of their belongings on the street! Hurry up and get them out of that house!!

Jean has been an excellent representative of Canada and OUR culture. it is unfortunate she has an idiot for a husband. only in Canada can people considered traitors (FLQ) in any other country pull such crap

Considering what his wife is, dumb on his part.

That said, get rid of the GG period and break away from the Commonwealth. Being in the Commonwealth is an embarrassment to Canada, and we serve no Queen. If the Brits won't ditch the Monarchy, it's about time Canada did.

Come on guys, you have a very short memory. Both of them were menbers of the FLQ and should never have been in Rideau hall in the first place! Thank god they will be vacating there shortly.

Surely the GG is supposed to be the Queens representative here in Canada. This being the case her home is also the Queens home. Chuck these freeloaders out.
Andrea, 2010-07-07 10:09:45

DO I have a problem?...yes. Am I surprised? ...no. As long as it's the Canadian taxpayer paying for the roof over his separatist a$$ he should have nothing to say. Perhaps he's the one that should find somewhere else to bunk.
T.Salo, 2010-07-07 10:08:24

The GG has always carried out her duties with class and dignity. Too bad the same can't be said for her husband. His request was flat out rude! Does he not realize that technically he is living in the Queen's house?!! What an idiot!!
John Summers, 2010-07-07 10:01:14

I have no sympathy for his separatist leanings but, being of French/Irish heritage, I do share the indifference of most Canadian Francophones to the Royal Family. Looking back in history, Great Britain and the Royal Family have done nothing to endear themselves to either, especially the Irish. Like many Australians and Scots, they can stick the Royal Family where the sun don't shine.

Not his house, not his call. Not much common sense on his part if he didn't get that OR the significance of Rideau Hall. We all know our place in the world. He should learn his.

The "hubby" obviously has no respect for the Queen or his wifes position within the Canadian government.

If I were the queen, the GG and hubby would be looking for a new place to live. What an embarassment to all Canadians.
