Families of loved ones in nursing homes can hardly keep their homes because of high health care costs. I sympathize with the Tamils' plight however, how can they be given priority over our own citizens by trying to by-pass our immigration system? Our government is spineless if they allow this to continue. We are the ones paying for this.

The real problem here isn't just these people... we need young immigrants. No the real problem lies with the hordes of $200 per hour experts, lawyers and other various grades of advanced degree parasitic morons that feed off these situations created by 'law'.

How to deal with them now?

Fingerprint, photograph, interview and then put them on a plane back to Sri Lanka with a specific aggreement from the government there that they will not be abused. Follow up with a team on the ground that makes sure that the aggreement is being complied with.

I don't know.. i'm torn in this situation because i pretty much understand what's going on here. In reality, us Canadians have it so good here with our healthcare, cleanliness and services, education, and the endless opportunities. Our tax dollars pay for everything around us, even those agents investigating the human smuggling issue.. all i'm saying is that we are very fortunate to be here in Canada.. the more we exhibit our open immigration and refugee system to the world, it helps our image as a nation.
