Gordon Hippern's point of view would allow organized crime and criminals from all parts of the world to prosper in Canada. LTTE (Tamil Tigers) already have a base in Canada to exploit legal Tamils. Gordon Hippern speaks of compassion. How about a little compassion for the legitimate Tamils who fled Northern Sri Lanka under threat from the Tamil Tigers, arrive legally in Canada only to find their persecutors (Tamil Tigers) literally living in their own backyard?

71% of Tamil refugees go home for vacation. Why are we accepting more? They can afford to go back home for vacation. I was born here, and I can't afford a vacation. These are not refugees, they are just abusing the system. Send them home, and every one of them that claimed refugee status, used our system and money, and went back home for vacation to spread the word on how incredibly stupid we are.

How about making this easy...legitimate refugees of any background can be granted refugee status. BUT, if you go back to your homeland, you can't come back. If things have changed in your homeland allowing you to go back and you choose to do so, stay there, and if you want to come back, apply to become a legitimate immigrant!!! I am sick of 'refugees' coming here under false pretences. This results in those who came from that background and have been here, worked hard and have integrated well into the society, getting lumped in with the queue jumpers. This also goes for those immigrants and those who chose to become Canadian Citizens...if you don't like it here, get out. If you are born here, regardless of your parents being immigrants, learn the damn language and don't pretend that you can't speak English 'cause you are an immigrant...you are not!!! Yes, I have dealt with Tamils which is why I know this. Don't believe anything they say!!!
