Are bullying problems out of control? Thu, December 6, 2012
Bullies now face fines and possible jail time for calling people names in Hanna, Alta. and their followers who cheer on their taunts could be forced to pay up, too.
When I was in highschool there was a bully in our class who would grab the little guys and run his knuckles up and down their heads and laugh about it. Finally he tried it on me, but although small, I was a farm kid that handle baled hay all summer and I was pretty fit. He ended up with his arm twisted and behind his back and he was on the floor so fast that it surprised me. He NEVER bothered anyone again. Today, I would be reprimanded and probably sent home. I probably did the guy a bigger favour than he will ever know. A family friend's grand-daughter committed suicide, as a result of bullying, so I have a pretty close connection to what is going on and it isn't pretty. It totally devastates families when it goes this far.

bullying has always been around, and wether its been getting worse or not isnt the issue we should be addressing. dealing with it properly when it does occur, wether mildly or severely should be our focus. bullying is bullying, and what is simply brushed off one kid could devistate another one. when it occurs, teachers, principals, both sets of parents and the kids involved should meet and discuss the issue. talking CAN work, and if not punishment in the appropriate form determined by all involved should be followed. parents need to keep the dialog open with their kids and start being parents, not their kids best friend. when a kid commits suicide over being bullied, i think there are issues that need to be strictly addressed by all parties involved. anyone for military school???

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????
Of course it is! Just walk around any mall, school, etc...look at faces of people living in a society taught that everybody is special.

I don't think that bullying is any worse than what it was say, 20 years ago. I just think that the media has found something to cling on to. In fact, I think it is better now. in that most schools and work places have adopted the "zero tolerance policies" regarding bullying and harassment.
Granted, that is not to say that it is being enforced properly because as we all know actions speak louder than words.

I think bullying is pretty much the same as it was when I was a kid. It's just talked about more and dealt with more. Also, I think the media has found something hook their claws into. Bullying has always been an issue I just think that it is becoming less tolerated, I hope!!

According to Crusher, if someone witnesses bullying on the school yard, they should just keep their mouths shut and tell no one

There certainly is to much bullying because we discourage discipline to those doing the bullying and most and worst of all we discourage defending and standing up for ourselves which empowers bullies to be even more aggressive.

There comes a point when you can no longer blame a career bully; they are simply doing what they are allowed to do.

Schoolyard bullies are usually the offspring of the arrogant self centred profiles of their parants who somehow think their little johnny is the best and all others are beneath. These are the ones who need such a beating that they will never act off key again. When I was a child growing in northern Alberta as a protestant english in a french catholic area I was soon to become accustoned to bullies of all sorts. I made a club that fit down my pant leg but easily attainable. When anyone laid a hand on me I would get this weapon and give the beating they well deserve;. Self defense is one of our charter rights. Just make sure they either hit or lay hands on you first in front of a witness. Then the field is yours. A good beating is well deserved by these lechers of society and well neeeds to be done to jack ass parants who condone their children doing such things.

To those new here, Mrs B, aka twitless-pie, is referring to itself. Nobody else has attempted to make this thread into an american politics topic, or belittled the severity of schoolyard bullying.
Shame on you twisted sybil knothead!
Twitlessly posted as messy bird droppings all over this important topic:
Crusher says..
"You think THIS is bullying?"
You dont think the story connected to this thread is bullying?
You are a sick person if you think what has been happening to this little boy is nothing to be concerned about.
Now I see the troll who posts with my name is active yet again
