Fri, January 27, 2012

The province won't become the Amsterdam of North America for at least a year -- if not longer -- following a ruling by Ontario's highest court.

RMB tries to be funny by saying that all men and women are hookers.

hint: you are only making yourself look stupid.
The Crusher, 2012-04-03 12:53:50

Now wayne is saying hookers work for free.

"This is a high paying, no training job that women and men do for free anyway."

Funny wayne.

RMB reading the SUN every day???? (one would have to to claim to know the material is drivel)

For the rookie here, the shocker in that statement is that RMB reads!

"should read the drivel by the Toronto Sun reporters."

That would be every day. And very few are actually reporters.

Thanks Bill for your comment: "Of course it won't better sex workers lives, anybody who thinks the sex worker has suddenly entered into an era where they are loved, respected and treated as professionals is naive – indeed stupid beyond all sense."

So much for my career change;)

this has changed what the sex worker does. It has changed the bosses of the sex workers and johns and how they operate. no longer in amnoninity which gets rid of opportunity. and yes most women who sell themselves would rather do something else but they are desperate and making this illegal doesn't solve their problem. it just takes an avenue away that solves it. This is a high paying, no training job that women and men do for free anyway. it was a good decision

If Ontario's prostitution ruling provided sex trade workers with quantifiable wages and medical benefits including deductions for EI and CPP, and freedom from harassment and threats to their well being it would probably (in theory) improve their lives, because they would not be at the mercy of people who take advantage of them and keep them dependent on the sex trade. But while it takes away from criminalizing the women who are sucked into selling their bodies, it does nothing to address the people who take advantage of them and abuse them (even kill them). How many of these women are engaged in this business because they love their job and the benefits that come with it? The Netherlands and some other countries in Europe have legalized it and the women pay taxes on their earnings and receive medical benefits, and because they have been taxpayers they actually get some pension benefits. Somehow I don't see Canada following suit.

Gods and the devil are figments of the imagination and don't belong in this thread.

LOL the Americans according to RMB are concerned about Ontario's ruling on sex trade workers. Really troll, in what way. Of course not, no facts just trolling hoping your sock puppet personas will give their support.
hmminvisiblecola, 2012-03-30 14:56:00

Of course it won't better sex workers lives, anybody who thinks the sex worker has suddenly entered into an era where they are loved, respected and treated as professionals is naive – indeed stupid beyond all sense. The drug addicted will still be drug addicted, the gangs will still run prostitution, the abuse will still continue although it will be much easier to get away with now that it is behind legally locked doors and the police cannot kick the door down to help. This is obviously the result of - shall we use the polite term - intense and expensive "lobbying" - to get an outcome that suits those already in the prostitution, drug and the "intense and expensive" lobbying business. It is increasingly obvious that “intense and expensive lobbying” is the way to go if you need something profitable but evil legalized.
