actually idiot i said its idiotic to ban one type of plastic bag when their are thousands of other types that are ALL RIGHT, but your to stupid to get that
wayne, 2012-06-11 08:27:50
But we need those bag's for all of the garbage spewed by the Troll below.
Dave, 2012-06-10 12:53:51
More on how wayne shows he does not have a clue.
" We have a premier who charges us and taxes us on them "
As always wayne has no idea what is going on. wayne seems to think ALL plastic bags are going to be banned. Wrong as always wayne. This is simply about the bags that right wingers like to throw out on the streets after they bring their groceries home in them. This is not about banning plastic bread bags

For all you "lets save the enviornment " people, you should educate yourselves. A paper bag has 3 times the "carbon footprint of a plastic bag and a canvas bag 131 times...so whats worse for the environment?
The 5 cent fee is nothing but a cash grab, but do what I so enjoy doing.
Go buy about $300 in groceries and let them pack it up, when they go to charge you 5 cents a bag ...say you wont pay, then leave everything at the checkout and walk away.
Ozzy, 2012-06-08 09:32:04
its the stupidest ban ever. GARBAGE BAGS ARE PLASTIC. Everything you buy is WRAPPED IN PLASTIC. We have a premier who charges us and taxes us on them and now a city has councillors that ban it. What is wrong with Toronto, are they sniffing glue?
wayne, 2012-06-08 08:12:39
This isn't about bags. It's about the councilors throwing another one in Ford's face.
It's another example of Toronto City Council showing just exactly how inefficient they can be. No serious issues gets tackled because they're all more interested in internal bickering, showing each other up. Nothing but large ego's at city council. What a shame.

How could such a moron be voted in as Mayor? Everything he touches is a mess...although for the media he is a pot of gold!
Lorne, 2012-06-07 22:15:06
How about banning the triple layers of packaging most items come with. That would eliminate most of the recycling we have to do also.
Jon, 2012-06-07 21:46:23
Cities around the world have been banning plastic carry home bags for years. Toronto is just catching up. Not surprised that blob is so against it. Course it was because of him the decision happened to ban them.
