What do you think of Nik Wallenda's Falls walk? Mon, June 13, 2011
On Friday, June 15, Nik Wallenda, a seventh-generation member of the famed "Flying Wallendas" family of circus performers, is set to walk a 2-inch (5 cm) cable strung 1,800 feet across Niagara Falls gorge on June 15 - the first such tight rope feat between the United States and Canada in more than a century.
It was amazing. Don't knock the nay sayers though. It wasn't death defying. Just an amazing act. I wouldn't walk on a ledge a thousand feet up on the outside of a building but tether me and i will do the CN tower walk. When you add death to the equation it makes any task infintely tougher, taking away obviously does the reverse. Walking that distance on a waving rope through mist is amazing no matter what. Intense concentration and balance.

Nik Wallenda's Falls walk was amazing!! The fact that he was forced to wear a tether did not diminish the excitement of his walk. In fact, it made it more difficult. He had to cope with that extra weight of it being dragged along, and the possibility of it getting caught on the wire. Nik's success, in his Falls walk, was purely based on his skill and training. If you were watching, at no time did he use that tether to aid him. Skill is skill and success is success, and that is what we saw with Nik Wallenda's Falls walk! We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

The nay-sayers here are a riot. Harness or not, none of THEM would try this...or even make it a foot if they did (which they won't). Nik didn't WANT to have to wear it, by the way.

It was a nail biter, but Nik made it.
Congratulation's Nik.
Next stop.
The Grand Canyon.

Was quite exciting to watch. Would take a real skill to be able to do what he did. Especially going through the heavy mist and the sound and the movement of the falls below.

Hurray for Nik Wannenda!! That was the greatest scene I have ever seen and what a challenge. He is the the greatest!

As soon as the tv network said he had to wear a safety harness, I lost interest. How is this a death-defying stunt? No offence to Nik.

The tether does take some of the excitement away. No doubt the insurance company had a say in that. Those insurance companies ruin everything, or is it the law that allows the dumbest lawsuits to get through. whatever, I still think it is a good break from the normal news.

Not impressed ever since it was revealed he would be tethered to the wire. Death Defying Stunt????
