40% of the people voted. What a crying shame, not to exercise your civic right. There are people around the world who do not even have this simple right in their life, and here 6 out of every 10 people can't be bothered to even take 15 minutes out of their lives to go and vote.

We have men and women overseas, fighting and dying for us, trying to bring the same rights people casually disregard here to them. What a crying shame. Alas, it doesn't surprise me anymore, and that's even more saddening.

There is a lot of useless thinkers in Alberta.

Too bad that so many of you Con voters will be out of very needed soical help and so little money left at the end of each month to pay for your health needs!!!!!!!

What a shame, you poor silly Cons!!!!!!!

It seemed it came down to who was less of a socialist.

Well well, so much for all that negative advertising. I think the general public was sick and tired of all the mud slinging of the "Ed has no plan" crowd. I guess his plan now is to show you na-sayers that he can do it. Congrats Ed!

I find it very odd that if you do not vote PC, you are voting for "extremists". I also find it funny that people say Alberta has had a booming economy for xx years. With the amount of oil here how could we not? The Conservatives, specifically Stelmach, have not helped the economy. Ask anyone looking for a place to rent. Or a job that pays a living wage. The cost of living has consistently risen in the past 5 years but the goverment has done NOTHING to protect the right of individuals while business makes a mint gouging the citizens.

I will fight as long as I have a breath in me to ensure PC's lose. Perhaps if we had real media outlets here instead of 2 "news" outlets in Edmonton which are blatantly right wing, we might see a more enlightened public vote with some intelligence.

When will you people learn. I look forward to the end of the baby boomer generation and I hope my generation can fix the mistakes of all you before it is too late.

A question to all Conservatives, what is your party's plan for Alberta when the oil is gone? Wait is that happening before the next election? No? Then I guess it's back to greed as usual.

What is wrong with the people in this province? Are we gluttons for punishment, or just basically stupid? The PC's have been in power for 37 years. They have been in so long that they have become arrogant and don't care anymore about the little guy. They can do what they like and damned to to people. Here we had a chance to make changes and get this province moving forward, and getting housing, rent controls and important issues taken care of. Instead we put Stalin (Stelmach) back into power for another term. The man is a farmer and should be on his farm riding his tractor. He knows absolutely nothing about politics or how to run a province.

Well Alberta, you did it to yourselves. When you go to rent a place and there are none, except for the ones that the landlords ask outrageous prices, or you want a cigarette, but have the smoke police come after you, remember, you had the chance and blew it. Now we have to live wit it, because you can guarantee the PC party really does'nt care.

WELL, All you naysayers out there, Let's face it.. This is a conservative province and if you don't like it.. TOO BAD.. Just take a look at the election results tonight. I'm sure it speaks for itself.

It seems that Albertans just can't trust, Kevin Taft (an oversized drama queen (for reference: please refer to the leaders debate and his continued rantings throuhout))or Brian Mason (a union pawn)and oversized leftist to lead this province to anywhere else but ruin.

Also, maybe those union leaders that spent all their members' money on ads that didn't change the result of the election should just resign in shame. After all, it seems that union leaders have decided that their members no longer have a say as to where and what their money is used for.

Well, I look forward to another 4 years of Progressive Conservative Government.

I am a former Albertan, but I still follow Alberta politics closely. I am delighted with the Progressive Conservative's massive and overwhelming win tonight. Once again, Albertans show all of Canada that they are free enterprisers who are not interested in cradle to grave socialism.

I don't know about the belly aching that people do about the parties that get elected when they don't exercise their responsibility to vote so either crap or get off the

pot. As for Premier Stelmach give the man a chance as he is doing the best he can and he will get better let's face it he's not Ralph

So let's get the ball rolling and get on with life and try to keep the province in the black and not run it into the ground like the NDP did to BC and finally Sask. has a chance with the Sask. party in power.

As for the tree huggers go back to BC and hold hands with the Liberals..with something green in a roll.
