Man, wife in $5.75M cocaine bust
The Toronto Sun

A Kitchener couple are under arrest after 46 kilos of cocaine was allegedly found in a secret compartment of their car that was entering the country near Sarnia.

The coke, worth $5.75 million, was found by a Customs detector dog about 9:30 a.m. last Saturday, said Dan Yen, of the Canada Border Services Agency.

"The bricks of cocaine were found in a compartment between the rear seat and the trunk," Yen alleged yesterday. "There were 46 bricks that were wrapped in plastic."

"This is a significant amount of cocaine that was seized," Yen said. "It is a substantial seizure for our officers."

Vedran Hasanagic, 42, and his wife, Mirjana, 43, have been charged with drug offences.
