CALGARY - Shot two nights in a row, a man in his mid-20s has survived both attacks.

Police said the victim, who was shot in a car in the southwest Friday night, was again wounded by gunfire last night.

About 8:30 p.m., police were called to the 7-Eleven at 39 Ave. and Macleod Tr. following a complaint from staff that a man came to the store with gunshot wounds.

"Officers arrived and found a mid-20s male outside the store with what appeared to be a fresh wound to his upper torso," said Duty Insp. Frank Reuser.

Paramedics transported the victim to Foothills hospital under police guard.

The victim, who had non-life-threatening but serious injuries, is known to police.

The possible location of last night's shooting was contained but officers had not located an exact spot where the shooting took place.

Police closed Stanley Rd. three blocks north and south of 39 Ave. for several hours while the scene was investigated.

On Friday night, the same victim showed up at a hospital not long after cops found a Dodge Stratus running and with lights on, its passenger door open and riddled with bullet holes.

The man went to hospital several hours after police were called to the 2600 block of 26A St. S.W. about 9:15 p.m.

Homicide detectives are now involved in the shootings because the same man was targeted two nights in a row and sustained gunshot wounds in both attacks.

The victim has not been co-operative, police said.

Police say they have yet to determine a motive for the attack. They also have not said whether the shootings are gang-related.
