Woman admits sex with underage girls
By KEVIN MARTIN, SUN MEDIA
The Calgary Sun

CALGARY -- Having sexual trysts with two teenage girls has landed a Calgary woman the equivalent of a 110-day jail term.

Traci Leah Cochrane was also placed on probation yesterday for two years after provincial court Judge Bob Wilkins accepted a joint Crown and defence sentencing proposal.

Prosecutor Paul Mason said he normally would have sought a harsher sentence, but there were evidentiary problems with his case.

Mason noted Cochrane's sexual relationship with her first victim was initially legal, but became unlawful when Ottawa raised the age of consent. He said Cochrane's affair with her second victim was at first illegal, but is continuing now the girl can lawfully consent.

Cochrane, 30, who spent 55 days in remand, pleaded guilty to two charges of having sexual contact with minors, as well as several breaches of her release conditions.
