EDMONTON -- Police say they are not looking for suspects in the suspicious deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered yesterday inside a north-end home.

Cops were called to a house at 84 Street and 138 Avenue around 12:45 p.m. where neighbours say a family of four lived.

TIGHT-LIPPED

Media reports said last night that an adult man and a male child were found dead, but homicide detectives would not confirm the genders or ages of the deceased.

Police remained tight-lipped about the investigation that continued into the night.

A medical examiner will investigate the cause of the deaths this week, a police spokesman said.

The names of the victims had not been released last night.

Meanwhile, neighbours said a couple -- a man and a woman in their 30s or 40s -- had been living in the home for around two years with an 11-year-old boy.

Another boy only came home on weekends.

Rob, a neighbour who didn't want his last name used, said he sometimes spoke to the couple over the fence and never had any complaints about them.

"They were very nice people," he said. "They were just regular people.

"We talked over the fence and everything seemed to be calm and cool."

He said the woman works as a dispatcher for a trucking company.

It was unsettling to arrive home to a street full of police cars, he added, explaining he had been away when cops first arrived on scene.

'EMPTY FEELING'

"You just don't like it in your neighbourhood or in your city. But especially in your neighbourhood," he said. "It gives you an empty feeling."

Several other area residents said they didn't know the people living in the home, but were shocked to learn about the deaths.

"It's a good neighbourhood," said Betty Juan. "It's a nice, quiet area. My kids play out here. It's crazy."
