One man was fatally shot in a home invasion in Etobicoke yesterday that reportedly saw victims diving out of windows to avoid the bullets.

The victim, who was shot several times, was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital for emergency surgery following the incident that took place around 8 p.m. He was pronounced dead in hospital, Toronto Police Insp. Randy Carter said.

QUIET NEIGHBOURHOOD

A second occupant of the house had unspecified injuries in the invasion on Wincott Dr., in the Kipling Ave.-The Westway area, a quiet residential neighbourhood with bungalow-lined streets.

The condition of the second victim was not immediately known.

At least three suspects are being sought, one of whom may have been wearing body armour.

A car was spotted fleeing the area, police said.

The Toronto Police holdup and K-9 squads were called to help investigate.

A neighbour, who would only identify himself as Al, said he's occasionally said hello to the family and called them "nice people."

He didn't hear the gunfire, but said it wouldn't scare him out of the neighbourhood he's been living in for 23 years.

"It's a crapshoot where this stuff happens," he said.

A van parked in the driveway had Rundle's Contracting marked on its side.
