EDMONTON - A man was sent to hospital yesterday after running into oncoming traffic while allegedly trying to make off with stolen booze, said Edmonton police.
Someone robbed a liquor store in a neighbourhood near 95 Avenue and 156 Street before 2:15 p.m., said acting Staff Sgt. Stan Mah. The man made off with an unknown number of bottles.
The store owner chased the man, who darted into traffic trying to avoid being caught, police said. He ran right into the path of a car, which hit him. He was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Mah. No charges had been laid by last night.
