Boy, 12, charged in stabbing death
By QMI Agency

WINNIPEG -- A 12-year-old boy has been charged in the stabbing death of a 14-year-old girl in Oxford House First Nation, RCMP said yesterday.

RCMP identified the girl as Marilyn Alicia Agnes Munroe (known as Molly), a Grade 9 student at Oxford House's high school.

Investigation determined the girl was attacked in a residence in Oxford House.

An autopsy performed at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg yesterday showed she died as the result of a stab wound.

Munroe's death was reported to the RCMP detachment in Oxford House on Monday morning.

The boy from Oxford House is charged with second-degree murder.

He will be appearing Dec. 31 in Thompson provincial youth court.

Oxford House, home to about 1,900 people, is about 950 km northeast of Winnipeg.
