Man who preyed on 60 minors sentenced
By QMI Agency

A Saskatchewan man who preyed on as many as 60 minors was sentenced as a long-term offender Friday.

Saskatoon’s Lyman Pearce, who was 60 years-old in 2009 when the charges were laid against him, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, reports CBC. He has already served eight.

Being classified as a long-term offender means he faces a more severe sentence than would normally be handed down in such cases. He was given the title because his crimes span more than a decade.

"He lived this appalling life of sex and drugs," Don Mullord, Pearce’s lawyer, told reporters outside court Friday. "I think his life was out of control, and I think here realizes that. It’s over and he will serve his sentence."

Eight women pressed charges against Pearce, but police discovered graphic images on his computer linking him to about 60 minors.
