Free ride leads to attack, robbery
Ottawa man assaulted by seemingly Good Samaritans
By SCOTT TAYLOR, QMI Agency

OTTAWA -- The offer of a ride turned out to be too good to be true early Saturday when an Ottawa man was assaulted and robbed.

The victim accepted a lift from a man and a woman near Bank St. and Queensdale Ave. around 2:45 a.m. The pair then assaulted and robbed him, but he managed to flee and contact police.

Cops later found the car and arrested the two occupants without incident.

Charged with robbery are 25-year-old Stephanie Martin of Ottawa and Sebastien Boutet, 26, of Rockland. Both suspects are known to police.

The victim did not know them.
