Yes, all strikes are always stupid.
No, the feds should butt out of labour negotiations.

Target escaped Montreal shooting

MONTREAL - The man targeted in Thursdayıs shooting at a downtown Montreal clothing store that left two people dead was able to escape through the back door of his store.

According to TVA, Ducarme Joseph, 41, is allegedly the former head of a street gang.

Joseph was arrested Friday for breach of conditions in connection with an armed assault.

He was arrested for allegedly associating with two men that he had been prohibited from having contact with.

Joseph's bodyguard, Peter Christopoulos, 27, was killed inside the Flawnego boutique, a women's clothing store on Saint-Jacques St. that is owned by Joseph. Christopoulos' body was removed from the store overnight Thursday as police continued to investigate.

Police haven't released the identity of the other man who died in the shooting. TVA reports he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Two other people, aged 29 and 31, were seriously injured during the shooting, though their injuries are not life-threatening.

Montreal municipal police believe the mafia might have ordered Thursday's attack in response to the murder of Nick Rizzuto Jr. in December.

Thursday's shooting occurred at about 1:45 p.m. Two people wearing masks and dressed in long coats entered the store and fired several shots.

The killings are Montreal's fourth and fifth homicides of the year.

As of Thursday evening, the two other victims remained in hospital in stable condition.

Police continue to search for the shooters, both of whom are described as black.

Police said witnesses saw the suspects flee the scene and then head west.

The mid-day shooting caused plenty of commotion in Old Montreal, with curious onlookers assembling along the police barriers throughout the day.

Joseph will appear in court on Saturday.
