TORONTO — Although he’s still in hospital recovering from being hit by a truck, Toronto Police have charged Ayan “Denise” Osman’s ex-boyfriend with murder.

Osman, 28, was slain early Tuesday inside her Dixon Rd. apartment.

Toronto Police said Osman’s attacker snuck out after the murder by using the stairs and made his way to the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401.

Once there, he walked into traffic and was hit by a transport truck near Martin Grove Rd.

He survived the crash and remains in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, Const. Tony Vella said.

On Friday, homicide cops charged Osman’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her two children with murder.

A justice of the peace was brought into the hospital to remand him.

Joey Shepherd, 26, of Mississauga, is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm. He is to appear in front of a justice of the peace again on July 7.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
