Man charged after spying on boy in kayak
By QMI Agency

A 58-year-old Calgary man has been charged in Regina after he allegedly masturbated near a river while looking at a young boy.

Regina police say around 11 a.m. on Monday, officers were sent to Wascana Park where a couple said they had been kayaking when they saw a man near a parking lot. They told officers the man appeared to be masturbating while using binoculars to watch a young boy in a kayak.

The couple said they shouted at the man and started to paddle towards him, but they weren't able to find him.

On Wednesday, police received a similar report about a man. On Thursday, police made an arrest in connection to the Monday sighting.

Randall Wayne Riehl, 58, of Calgary has been charged with performing an indecent act. He will appear in court Aug. 31.
