Hells Angel gunned down in Vancouver
By QMI Agency

VANCOUVER – A member East Vancouver's Hells Angels was shot and killed at his house near city hall early Thursday.

Juel Ross Stanton was discovered dead outside his home following a drive-by shooting around 6:15 a.m. on 11th Avenue near Columbia Street.

He was scheduled to be in Vancouver Provincial Court Thursday for an arraignment hearing.

A large chunk of the neighbourhood, including parts of Alberta and Columbia Streets, was cordoned off Thursday morning while police combed for evidence.

Police spokeswoman Const. Jana McGuinness said there are no suspects right now, but that other residents of Stanton’s home, consisting of friends and family, were being questioned.

The deadly shooting was one block away from a July 22 incident where undercover cops from anti-gang squads pulled over a car containing a gun.

McGuinness said she wasn’t aware of any connection between the two events.

In April, Stanton was allowed $75,000 bail on various conditions after several alleged assaults in bars.

He was banned from wearing Hells Angels clothing or displaying the logo on his vehicles or home.

He was also prohibited from bars and a large section of East Vancouver, and subjected to a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.
