Woman burns attacker with his own cigarette
By QMI Agency

OTTAWA — A woman in her 20s was assaulted Monday night, but managed to leave her mark on the attacker.

At around 11:30 p.m., the woman was walking through the Du Relais park in Gatineau, Que., when she noticed a man following her.

She left the park along Artisans Ave. when the man struck her and threw her to the ground, police said.

The woman struggled with the man and managed to crush his lit cigarette into his neck and face.
The suspect fled with her purse, which was later recovered not far from the crime scene.

Though she was rattled, the woman wasn't physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white, about 20 to 25 years old, 6-feet tall and about 190 lbs.

He was wearing a grey and black sweatshirt, and a ball cap.
He is likely to have a burn on his neck or face, police said.

If anyone has information, they should call police at 819-246-0222.
