YouTube driver turns himself in: Police
By Galen Eagle, QMI Agency

Driver runs stop sign and through college picket line

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — The 20-year-old man police say was driving in a YouTube video that shows a car blowing past striking Fleming College support staff workers has turned himself in.

A message posted Wednesday on the 20-year-old suspect's Facebook wall says, "Most should be happy to know I blew the picketing roadblock at Fleming this morning." The message ends with a happy face.

The message says the suspect was dropping a friend off at the college that morning.

Someone posted a video on YouTube Wednesday that shows a car speed down Stenson Blvd., go through the four-way stop at the intersection of Stenson Blvd. and Brealey Dr., pass two vehicles stopped at the stop, and then drive down the wrong side of the road and go through the picket line as Ontario Public Service Employees Union members rushed to get out of the way.

A man's voice can be heard on the video, as can the cries of startled strikers as the car came toward them.

Isaac Tilstra of Peterborough is charged with dangerous driving.

Sgt. Mike Jackson said Tilstra isn't a student at the college.
