Mr. JetzTV busted
By QMI Agency

Darrell Ackman. (QMI Agency, file)

WINNIPEG -- A man who videotapes unsuspecting Winnipeg girls and posts the footage on YouTube under the name "Mr. JetzTV" can now add another moniker to his resume -- criminal suspect.

Darrell Ackman, 42, was arrested Sunday afternoon in a police investigation into a damaged vehicle early last month.

He faces a charge of mischief under $5,000 and was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

Police said a vehicle was damaged Jan. 8 and they identified a potential suspect.

While police didn't identify the man as he has yet to be formally charged, Ackman called QMI Agency Sunday to state he was arrested for writing his Mr. JetzTV handle on a dirty car weeks ago.

No damage estimate was available, police said.

Ackman was arrested during a 1:30 p.m. traffic stop .

Ackman's penchant for videotaping Winnipeg women -- some of them caught off-guard -- on the street or as they leave bars drew fire from the public last week after his story emerged.

He told QMI Agency previously he's trying to "be like Justin Bieber" by promoting his video clips in hopes of attracting fame and wealth.

He has no connection to the Winnipeg Jets NHL franchise, but is frequently seen decked out in team apparel.

Ackman also faces a prostitution-related charge in Miami, where he lived for many years prior to returning to Winnipeg about 18 months ago.

Ackman has no criminal record in Manitoba, according to court documents.
