Yes, all strikes are always stupid.
No, the feds should butt out of labour negotiations.
Not yet. But if they don't reach a deal soon...

Accused killer said she'd cut girl: Crown

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Alexandra Firgan-Hewie was just 13 when she was lured to the house of an older friend on Dec. 10, 2008, and stabbed 37 times, a jury heard Wednesday morning.

Michelle Liard and her former boyfriend Rafal Lasota pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. The Crown rejected an attempt by Lasota to plead guilty to manslaughter.

Crown attorney Janet Goulin said police found a short story by Liard about a couple kidnapping a blond woman and cutting her. Goulin said Liard also told friends she was going to cut Firgan-Hewie "into little pieces."

The jury was told Firgan-Hewie was new to Mississauga and wanted to "fit in" with the Tunnel Group, an older group of friends — including Liard, 19, and Lasota, 24 — who chilled under the train bridge in Clarkson, west of Toronto.

The Crown said the friends lured Firgan-Hewie to Lasota's bedroom and then he stabbed her repeatedly. Her bloodied body was then placed behind Lasota's backyard shed in a green garbage bag.

Goulin said Lasota's mother, Theresa, later confronted her son and he broke into tears and confessed he killed a girl "but it was an accident."

She then called police.
