Girl, 17, charged with murder in man's death

ALLISTON, Ont. - A female teenager is charged with murder following the Saturday night death of a man.

Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police said a 24-year-old New Tecumseth man died in hospital after being found with obvious signs of trauma just before midnight on Centre Street.

Paramedics took him to Stevenson Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

“We have an individual under arrest and that person is a young person so, of course, we won't be releasing that person's name,” Const. Kelly Daniels-Griffis said.

The dead man's identity will be released once his his next of kin is notified, police said.

The victim has been taken to the Chief Coroner's Office in Toronto, where a post- mortem will be done.

Police are not saying what lead up to the death or if it involved a weapon was involved.

“If there was a weapon involved, I can't confirm that. It's all part of the investigation,” Daniels-Griffis said.

“I know there are a lot of questions. I can't tell you the cause, what it was, because that's all part of the investigation.

“It came into police as a disturbance call.”

A 17-year-old Essa Township female is charged with second-degree murder.
