CALGARY — Police have arrested a suspected drunk driver who they say went on a hit-and-run spree that severely damaged 12 parked cars early Tuesday.
At 1:20 a.m., police were called to Discovery Ridge Blvd. and Discovery Ridge Hill where they found the parked cars that had been damaged.
Some of them were writeoffs, police said.
Officers then discovered a badly battered older model Chevy Suburban abandoned in the middle of a street.
With the help of police dogs, a suspect who'd ran away was soon located, police said.
Police said he's a 28-year-old man who'd been working as a construction contractor in the area.
Police suspect alcohol was a factor in the crashes, and charges of impaired driving and hit and run are pending.
