Homicide investigators are probing a hit-and-run that killed a gas station attendant dead in Toronto.
The employee was hit by a vehicle around 9 p.m. Saturday at a Shell station, near Marlee and Roselawn Aves., police say. The 44-year-old man was later pronounced dead in hospital.
“It appears that somebody gassed and didn't pay and was leaving the gas station and the attendant tried to intervene,” Toronto Police Staff-Sgt. Courtney Chambers said.
Police have not released the victim's name as officers still have to notify his family members.
Police are searching for a grey or silver Isuzu Rodeo with a black roof rack and a damaged front-end.
“He was dragged for a distance,” he said.

Some witnesses who saw the incident have been questioned by police. Others are urged to step forward as soon as possible.
Police are also searching for a male suspect who's white, heavily-built with a tanned complexion. He's about 5-foot-8 and between 220 and 240 pounds.
