T.O. sex attacker targetted women in their homes: Cops
By Tom Godfrey, QMI Agency

More Etobicoke seniors assaulted

TORONTO - Police have returned to the city's southeast end after several women — including a 91-year-old — were sexually assaulted in four break-ins early Tuesday.

The attacks occurred in south Etobicoke, in an area bounded by Bloor St. W. to the north, the Queensway to the south, Royal York Rd. to the west and Park Lawn Rd. to east.

Police said the 91-year-old alerted authorities by pressing her Lifeline system.

Officers say they believe the man is familiar with the area and may have been stalking the women, since he usually breaks into homes between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m as residents sleep.

Officers canvassed the area last week after two women — one aged 70 and the other 62 — were assaulted in similar early-morning break-ins.

A 49-year-old woman saw the man try to enter her home and called police.

Police last week released a security camera image of a suspect who is described as 20 to 25 years old with a tan complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing and a covering to obscure his identity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
