The self-proclaimed “Chinese Warren Buffett” should be imprisoned for up to 10 years for his massive fraud, a Crown attorney argued Wednesday.
Prosecutor Gavin MacDonald said Weizhen Tang, 54, portrayed himself as a successful investor by throwing lavish parties to lure 200 people into a $52-million fraud.
“He provided statements that falsely indicated the investors were making money hand over fist,” MacDonald said.
