TORONTO - Injuries to a dog whose body was found in a local park are so "disturbing," police were reluctant Saturday to reveal too many details.

"It was tortured ... left for dead," Const. George Tudos said. "From what the officers said, it was pretty bad."

After the recently killed animal was found Friday by a citizen walking in Deerwood Park, police sent the body to a local animal hospital to determine what caused its death and the full extent of its injuries, Tudos said.
