DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - Provincial police found the bodies of three young children apparently drowned in an apartment Sunday afternoon in Drummondville, Que., about 100 km east of Montreal.
The dead are two girls, Laurélie, 5, and Anais, 2, and a boy, Loïc, 4, QMI Agency has learned.
Provincial police spokesperson Christine Coulombe called the deaths suspicious.
"I heard the cries of the grandmother when she came home and found the children (Sunday) afternoon," said shocked neighbour Veronique, who did not give a last name.
Veronique said the children's father arrived on the scene shortly after.
Police found the bodies on the top floor of a building located in a residential part of the city.
They received an emergency call around 4 p.m., but it is still unclear who phoned them.
The mother of the three children had been living alone with the children for the past few months. QMI Agency has learned that she recently separated from her partner.
