Honour killer gets life for almost decapitating wife
By Sam Pazzano, QMI Agency

Peer Khairi was convicted of second-degree murder in the March 2008 killing of his wife.

TORONTO - A manipulative Afghan immigrant who murdered his long-suffering wife, Randjida, by almost decapitating her was sentenced Monday to life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 15 years.

“Her last moments of life must have been horrific,” said Judge Robert Clark in passing sentence against Peer Khairi by raising his parole ineligibility period by five years over the minimum 10 years.

“He cut her throat so deeply that he almost decapitated her and it would have taken the victim almost 15 minutes to die,” said Clark.
