OTTAWA - The mother of a slain Barrhaven man says she knew from the time he disappeared in June that the suspect now accused of killing him was involved.

"I knew it, I knew it from day one," an emotional Nicole Nayel said Thursday outside the Ottawa Courthouse. "I went to this person twice myself.

"I told police everything."

She'd just learned that Adam Picard, 29, is the suspect charged with the first-degree murder of her son, Fouad. The killing is alleged to have occurred June 17 in the Township of Greater Madawaska.
