Victim kicked down escalator during robbery: Cops
By Chris Doucette, QMI Agency

TORONTO — A man has been arrested for allegedly kicking an 87-year-old down an escalator at a downtown Toronto transit station last weekend and then rifling through his pockets for cash.

The robbery happened Dec. 9, around 2:15 p.m., as the elderly man walked through the Queen subway station, Toronto police said Friday.

“A man approached the senior, struck up a conversation and then followed him onto an escalator,” Const. Tony Vella said.

He said the younger man then turned on the victim as they neared the bottom of the escalator.
